Zero #3,4: I thought my Zero's, being the closest to the Corsairs, would be tailed but they wernt. Very good. We began a shallow-level right turn to clear the F4s from our tail and to look to re-engage if the fighting didnt fly away. It didnt. We're just making a steady level big ol right and a Corsair kinda just comes into my elements sights 'for free'. We got 4 shots off, 3 of them OK shots, our marksmanship was disappointing and 4 cannon rounds managed 1H. The Corsair shakes us at the price of a stall but no Zero is around to take advantage.
So we just keep our right turn and before long another Corsair just comes into our sights 'for free' and we take 3 shots for 3.5 cannon rounds. Only one Hit as before, again disappointing marksmanship. Poor marksmanship is one thing, but losing The Init is another. Poor marksmanship is recoverable, losing The Init not so much. The Init was T13. On T12 Zero#3 could not get a tail on F4U#3, looked over an hour or two and was always just short. Maybe for fun check out Kents T12 log, anyone see how to get Zero#3 on F4U#3's tail? Anyway, T13 was The Init and Zero#3 won it.
