Under constant though ineffective defensive fire, the Yak leader slowly closes the distance to 200 yards and fires another burst at Heinkel #2. Again he sees strikes on the bomber, though nothing to indicate that it is damaged. Yak's #2 and #3 remain in shallow dives as they look to close to firing range of the Heinkels. Yak #2 slides out to the right to line up on Heinkel #3. From his steep dive 109 #2 pulls up into a shallow dive still working to regain enough speed to be able to catch the Yaks. Remaining in a steep dive, 109 #1 also dives to regain speed. Both 109s are still falling further behind the Yaks. |
